#iGiveCatholic RESULTS AS OF TODAY
As of this past Wednesday, December 4th, we have raised $24,705 of our $30,000 goal! We just were informed that Our Lady of the Lake Parish was randomly selected as the winner of one of the $500 prizes for #iGiveCatholic! This prize was sponsored by an anonymous donor. That brings us up to $25,205! What a blessing -- all for which we are so deeply grateful!
We are continuing to accept donations for our parish project through December 11th. WE CAN DO IT if all of us make a special "Christmas Gift" to our parish this weekend. If you have yet to make your gift, please consider doing so THIS weekend, or by dropping it off at the parish office by Tuesday before 3pm closing time.
THE BACKSTORY
As part of the recent interior renovations to our church, we decided that we needed to upgrade our technology to include a way to project videos on the left and right side of the sanctuary walls. The projectors will be located in the back walls above the cry room and the reconciliation room as to not be obtrusive to the interior beauty of our church.
Each projector is a state-of-the-art Sony Projector fitted with the appropriate lens similar to equipment you will find at university auditoriums and schools. The projectors will produce a quality image which can be seen in a bright church such as Our Lady of the Lake Church.
HOW WILL THE PROJECTORS BE USED?
One of our primary uses of the projectors is to provide short, meaningful Catholic teaching videos about 30 minutes before Mass begins on scheduled weekends. These videos are meant to explain the Catholic faith to enhance the knowledge that ordinary adults have of their Catholic faith. The videos should wrap up about 10 minutes before Mass begins.
The projectors will be used for large-group presentations, catechetical instruction for youth and adult faith formation and be available for diocesan presentations.
WHAT IS THE COST? Our goal is to raise $30,000 for two Sony VPLFHZ101L/W projectors, each with a Sony VPLLZ4025 lens. With large and small gifts gathered from our parishioners and friends, we will be able to meet our project goal.
WON'T YOU HELP TO PROVIDE SOME NEW TOOLS FOR WORSHIP AND EDUCATION IN OUR PARISH?
Please consider the big picture-- our children are indeed our future, but we need families who are grounded in their faith to prepare children to form a relationship with Jesus Christ within the arms of the faith. Thank you for any gift you give.
Welcome to our parish website!
If you are looking for a parish where the Catholic Faith is solid, and the heart of our people is warm and generous -- look no further than Our Lady of the Lake Parish.
We are one parish with three locations:
Our Lady of the Lake Church - Edinboro PA
Saint Anthony of Padua Church - Cambridge Springs PA
Saint Bernadette Church - Saegertown PA
We are a parish of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie Pennsylvania.
We strive live each day in fidelity to our triune God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. We embrace Jesus as the Christ as the Lord of our Lives. We firmly embrace the Catholic Church's official teachings on the Holy Scriptures, the Sacraments, and the Traditions of the Church as illustrated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Our Mission is the mission of Jesus Christ: To follow the will of the Heavenly Father with the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
The mission of Our Lady of the Lake Parish is to worship God and promote holiness of life through the celebration of the Sacraments, the sharing of the Gospel, the promotion of Catholic values and the offering of pastoral care through ministries that provide faith formation, healing, spiritual growth, and social outreach to the diverse communities of Edinboro, Cambridge Springs and Saegertown.
Under the care and patronage of Mary the Mother of God, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Bernadette of Lourdes, we, the members of Our Lady of the Lake Parish strive to live our baptismal call to holiness of life. Responding to the grace of the Holy Spirit received in the sacraments, we seek to become more like Jesus Christ who leads us to the Eternal Father in Heaven.
We accept as our religious and moral guide the teachings of the Church as taught by the Pope and the bishops united with him. ed by the example of the saints and mindful that we are stewards of God’s abundant blessings, we strive to practice the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy as we serve those in need and build up the Kingdom of God in our midst.
Our church is led by our pastor, Father Mark Hoffman, and our deacon assistant, Deacon David Romanowicz. They work together to provide faithful servant leadership for our families.
Advising our pastor is our Pastoral Council and Finance Council.
We are "off-line" for livestreaming until we return to OLOL Church in late October. When we do, remember how easy it is to view our liturgies: Just click on the link to the right to go to the parish YouTube channel to watch livestream masses.
