Founded over 40 years ago as a outreach ministry of Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Thrifty Threads continues to offer local patrons the opportunity to donate and purchase gently used items as a way to participate in the mandate of Jesus' mission of care for our neighbors. We are delighted and grateful in how our greater community has embraced this ministry.
- WE ENCOURAGE SHARING OF OUR SURPLUS GOODS: We have a Donation Door, located on the left side of our "old church" /social hall building. Donations are currently being accepted 24 hours a day --OR until the drop off room is full. Many local residents use our store as a way to donate clean, usable goods. Just a hint -- On weekends or holidays our donation room gets very full. If you see the sign "FULL" posted on the door, please return during a weekday. We really do appreciate your donations.
- WE DEEPLY CARE FOR THOSE WHO VISIT OUR THRIFT STORE: We offer patrons the chance to purchase clothing and other items at a very low price. We know that people appreciate the dignity of paying something for the goods they need, and we try to make the prices reasonable for everyone.
- WE ARE OPEN AT CONVENIENT HOURS: Our store is normally open on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM., except for major religious or civil holidays.
- WE WELCOME VOLUNTEERS, WHO ARE THE ARMS & HANDS OF OUR MISSION: It takes a lot of work hours each and every week to sort, prepare and display the new and gently used goods people drop off for us. You do not have to be a parishioner to be a valued volunteer.
- WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY: While currently we have a very relaxed atmosphere, we follow the CDC guidelines to ensure the safety and health of ALL our customers and volunteer staff.
